While tracing back through old posts, I came across this. Thought it was very fitting for today.
I was particularly struck by the following lines. Especially the ones in italics:
The world of writing – this is a world I want to become established in, not necessarily to be recognised, though that would be great, but for the personal achievement of knowing I had set out to finally do it and had followed it through.
“…but for the personal achievement of knowing I had set out to finally do it and had followed through.” Wow…
Considering my current ‘Just Write Something‘ flex, and also the fact that, I’ve previously mentioned ‘follow-through’ being an area I can be weak in; this resonated. It also warmed my heart to hear the hope in the 9 years younger me.
Well, I’ve had a few writing hiatuses since then, and am now living in a different country. However, I have pretty much the same writing hope, and I’m “giving thanks“, as feel like I’m slowly, but surely, following through.
Giving thanks to you too, for joining me on this journey. Whichever part of the world you are in, I hope me sharing something of mine, is adding a touch of something to yours.
