I’ve had a Thursday Thought (I know it’s Friday, just stay with me) all captioned up and ready to go for the last two weeks.
But…
Then we heard about the killing of Sonya Massey, and I felt I wanted to respond to that.
Then we had the racist, anti-Muslim riots and violence, that continued into this week. I’ve alternated between responding and resisting that claiming too much headspace.
Then, as I thought about finally posting it yesterday (8th Aug), I decided I wanted to follow through on responding to this quote—you may have seen me reference earlier this week:
We all have a limited amount of time to bring beauty to the world.

I think most of us would agree that we could definitely do with a bit more of the ‘beauty’!

I heard this quoted by Jake Isaac, in conversation with Dr Selina Stone, on a Sunday School for Misfits podcast episode. The following is an excerpt of the specific portion. It was one of a number of things that resonated. I recommend listening to the whole episode.
So instead of posting the ready to go Thursday Thought, late last night I put pen to paper and recorded my poetic musings. It may yet get a re-edit, but I’m offering it to you as it currently is.
